– Curious half page ad for Lowney’s chocolates, chosen as the National Candy by the US government.
– Nice 2/3 page ad for the California Limited, Santa Fe railroad, art by Newman, possibly C E H Newman.
– Interesting 3 page long story (fiction, I think) about a jewel thief “When money was tight” by Spot Cash.
– Cool 2/3 page ad for Shasta-Northern Pacific route, Northern Pacific railroad, with photo of huge log on two railroad cars.
– Really odd poem by Rupert Hughes about not getting fat, “I beg you to bant.”
– Full page art or cartoon art by Harrison Cady, “The original Thanksgiving dinner in old Plymouth,” bears eating the spread as pilgrims cling up in a tree.
– Two page centerspread art by John A. Williams, “The lull before the storm,” man and wife timidly preparing to knock on kitchen door, behind which lies chaos and a drunken cook.
