Description
Cover : “The Quck and the Dead,” Man Consoling widow, she does not want to give up her husband’s name so he says he will take her last name, not signed.
– Very rare : I have only ever seen this single Life Monthly Calendar.
– This is the same format as the other Life magazines, but is a Calendar for the Month of February, 1892. Every second page has a few dates of the month, half page of artwork and “the Diary of a Terrier” for each date. The in-between pages are like a regular issue, full of comic art, humor, short text pieces.
– Fun for 40 minutes : Life’s Monthly Calendar.
– The “Diary of a Terrier” pieces are so cute! The dog lover will LOVE them!
– Full page art or cartoon art by F. G. Attwood (February 1891 retrospective, what was going on a year ago), unsigned (A Valentine’s Fancy, fairies or cupids demonstrate the process of getting married).
– Circular 1/3 page artwork by Chip, Winter in Cuba.
– Two page centerspread art by Albert Wenzell, also signed Rhodes in corner, Cupid reading a Valentine’s poem, maybe written by Rhodes.
– The back cover has a very unusual full page ad for Kamaret (a new camera from Blair Camera Company) that includes a real photograph of a Colorado Mine as part of a Taylor & Rathvon Investment Company brochure.
– And many more smaller artworks, cartoon art, and ads … a very entertaining vintage publication!
– And much more 2Neat vintage Life magazine 1892 content – fun!
