Cover : Four generations of women and girls of his family waving goodbye to a sailor, “The girls he left behind,” art by Paul Stahr. This is a very poignant cover … if he dies at war this will devastate his grandmother, his mother, his wife and his daughter.
– OK, wow – very unusual content : Small photo of dynamite bomb found in the entrance to Life’s editorial and business offices just after midnight, Sunday April 21st, 1918. Patrolman Timothy Shea discovered it. Perps not yet found but thought to be German sympathizers.
