Cover : Children and their dogs in front of a store window in which are displayed many handmade valentine’s cards, art by B. Cory Kilvert.
– VALENTINE NUMBER (much on love, MANY car ads).
– Full page color ad for Pierce-Arrow cars with a cowboy wearing woolies (sheepskin chaps) on his horse, watching a car drive by below.
– Full page black and white ads for Locomobile (“30” Landaulet, New Theater), Londonderry Lithia Spring Water (Life is what you make it in the living), Hupp-Yeats Electric Car company, Haynes Automobile company (nice art, this might be a composite of a photo and art, the style of the trees in the background looks like Dr. Seuss, not signed), Packard Motor Trucks (with small art of Jagels & Bellis coal truck and company), Rambler Motor Cars, Broc Electric Vehicle Company (with art by MPC), Elmore cars, Peter’s Milk Chocolate (With excellent art of ice skaters, not signed).
– Interesting smaller ad for Pompeiian Bronze Screen cloth (window screening).
– Full page art or cartoon art by F. T. Richards (January), Bayard Jones (Among our illustrators … oops, painter puts the people in a car instead of a buggy like the author wrote), Jessie Gillespie (Valentines in silhouette),
– Two page centerspread art by Orson Lowell, Man selecting an heiress at random from a line-up, they become less attractive in some way as their dollar “value” goes up.
– Some current events include : New York is trying to elect a Democratic senator, Mr. Wayne McVeagh says that state governments are more important than the federal government.
– Selection from the “Human Cook Book” : A Sweetheart : Take a peach and remove both her parents; Add a suggestion of dough; Garnish with bonbons and flowers, and turn down the gas rather low.
– Cute half page artwork by Margery Stocking, Every Lassie has a Laddie, three policewomen marching three criminals along.
