– Full page color ads for Oldsmobile (with mild color, artwork shows cars with different sized tires, huge on one car, 42 inches wheels), Kellogg’s Corn Flakes (lovely art of woman hugging corn stalks).
– Full page black and white ads for Ivory Soap (art of camping scene, probably by Hartman).
– Full page art or cartoon art by Harry Grant Dart (Hydrophobia … sad art about a sleeping dog being framed as hydrophobic), Balfour-Ker (Landscape format : “A Lee Shore,” Life’s cherub sitting on bags of money on shore as ships sink offshore.
– Two page centerspread art by Harrison Cady, “The Hare and the Tortoise,” a speedy automobile has “won” an encounter with a heavily laden horse-drawn wagon.
– Some current events include : Tariff bill; “Governor Johnson of Minnesota says it is time that the West threw off the shackles of the East,” talking about western states versus eastern states, Life doesn’t think there are any shackles.
– Neat little photo of five kids sitting at Life’s Fresh Air Camps.
– CUTE quarter page artwork by Carey of father and son up in airplane, “I day, Papa, while we’re up here wouldn’t it be polite to call on God?”
