Cover : Woman playing with a Diabolo, art by Raymond Moreau Crosby. The Diabolo originated in China, but became very popular in Great Britain in the 1800s and evidently made it to the United States by 1908.

Heath Robinson of England who has won the contest to illustrate the saying “God helps them that help themselves,” his artwork shows a shipwrecked man living comfortably in the rigging of a mostly sunken ship, for example he has a chair and is fishing a bottle of champagne out of the water.
– Full page color ad for Coco-Cola (When the sun is red hot).
– Full page black and white ad for Welch’s grape juice with art by C.H.
– Quarter page ad for Temagami, fishing, canoeing and such, probably Canada.
– Full page art or cartoon art by Nesbitt Benson (Bugbears : the guest who draws diagrams on your very best tablecloth).
– Final installment of contributions of poems for “Life’s matrimonial contest,” 4 lines intended to win a member of the opposite sex, many samples.
– Two page centerspread art by Bayard Jones, “Woodman spare that tree,” man chopping down tree covered with carvings is unaware of all the ghosts (who carved the tree with their names and such) begging him to stop.
