Cover : Lovely young lady embracing her man, “An ideal device : prevents the necktie from slipping up the collar, every man should have one,” art by Otto Toaspern.

– Full page art or cartoon art by Kemble (The cake walk interrupted … African Americans at a church social event), Otto Toaspern (A bachelor’s acknowledgment).
– Two page centerspread art by T. S. Sullivant (Is this to be the result?  The trotting horse is becoming popular with the aristocracies of Europe.)
– Some current events include : Ambassador Bayard said some indiscreet things in his Edinburgh address, Anthony Comstock arrested and arraigned a man named Benson for soliciting subscriptions for a fake magazine, Colonel Ingersoll, Josiah Quincy has been elected Mayor of Boston, Dr. Ahlwardt, Difference between Barnard College and Girton (doesn’t give degrees).
